London is home to some great bars and I like to make the most of it :). Consequently it’s important to have my wardrobe stocked with outfits like this that can easily transition from the office to a bar! I find bold stripes styled correctly can be a refreshing look (without looking like a circus tent – or so I hope!). It was love at first sight between this skirt and me – the detail of the parallel zips combined with horizontal and diagonal stripes adds a playful twist. The thick stretch fabric (awesome tummy tuck btw!) along with the asymmetrical cut makes this skirt a great transitional piece from the office to the bar.
I’ve worn the skirt here with a plain navy blue top – blue is my go to colour this season as evidenced in my blogs to date! To add some brightness to the outfit, new shoes (crafted with this match made in heaven colour combination of pink and red) are on debut. I’ve accessorised the look with a pale gold necklace that matches the tone of the skirt zip, a beige and gold bangle and I’m carrying my favourite Prada bag.
Tonight I went to Purl in Marylebone. The entrance of this bar descends into a vault, opening up to various mini cave-like booths. It’s an ideal place for quiet drinks (great for first dates!), the super friendly staff know their cocktails well and drinks are served with consumption instructions :). It was definitely a first for me to be given a mini sandwich as a pre cocktail pallet cleanser! I’d highly recommend the place – my favourite drink was “The 80’s – It’s my Way”
