Pastels are having a fashion moment, a rather long one too since gracing the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalks. Not only did the candy shop trend take that summer by storm but it continued into our winter wardrobe (remember the pink coat obsession?) and has made a strong standing ever since! Blush pink is at the top of my favourite pastel colours list and this dress from ACNE embodies this trend into my office wardrobe. Acne Studios (if you haven’t heard of it) is a luxury Swedish fashion label, gaining prominence designing jeans in the late 90’s and now boasting men’s and women’s ready-to-wear fashion, footwear and accessories. Their designs accentuate Nordic style and this dress with its simple yet tailored structure is at the heart of the minimalist “Scandi-cool” trend. Don’t be put off by the name, it stands for Ambition to Create Novel Expressions and has nothing to do with teenage skin! Stockists in London include Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Liberty along with Acne Studios flagship store on Dover Street, Mayfair.
I’ve styled the dress with an animal print belt to add some dimension to the look and a statement necklace. Staying in tune with the pink theme, I’ve paired the dress with this gorgeous Red Valentino net and leather pink pumps.
